NSW: State s budget off limits to Games organisers: Carr

New South Wales Premier BOB CARR says the state's budget will remain off-limits to
the cash-strapped Olympic Games organisers.

But he says the government is open-minded about the proposal to forego $30 million
promised to taxpayers in games' profits towards bridging the sponsorship shortfall.

Mr CARR told reporters the simple message to the taxpayers of New South Wales is that
SOCOG gets money from ticket sales, TV rights and sponsorship and must, like any other
organisation, work within its budget.
