NSW: Bank workers return to work after two-hour strike

Bank workers in Sydney's south have voted to return to work following a two-hour stop
work meeting.

More than 100 workers from 44 branches of the ANZ, National Australia Bank and Westpace
in the Sutherland Shire, Bankstown and Kogorah areas walked off the job at 9 am (AEST)
this morning.

The union's nationwide pay campaign began in Newcastle on June 29.

The Finance Sector Union says workers are angry that they were not receiving enough
pay, while the banks were making high profits.

Union state branch secretary GEOFF DERRICK says staff will hand out leaflets informing
bank customers of their industrial campaign before returning to work around lunchtime.

But he says there'll be more industrial action from the campaign unless the employers
are willing to negotiate.
