NSW; Another train derails at Bargo - Oppn
The NSW Opposition says a maintenance train has derailed near Bargo in the state'ssouthern highlands -- the second derailment in the area in as many weeks.
A NSW Transport report last week revealed the derailed carriages of a ballast traincaused a collision with a passenger train near Yerrinbool, outside Bargo, on August 1.
Rail crews were not aware of the derailed train until it was hit by the passenger traincarrying 70 people.
Opposition transport spokesman PETER DEBNAM says the two derailments are more than a coincidence.
He's asked what's happening on that section of track that's causing derailments.
Mr DEBNAM says two carriages of the maintenance train derailed sometime between 4.30amand 7am (AEST) today.
Comment is being sought from the Rail Infrastructure Corporation.
